You are overthinking things. The reasons the left is losing are quite simple:

1. Their ideas lack common sense and grow the power of government instead of serving the people.

2. Their candidates embrace identity politics rather than celebrating and promoting individual achievement and responsibility regardless of demographics.

3. They fundamentally hate the concepts of free speech, religious liberty, the right to keep and bear arms, the role of an adversarial press when "their team" is in power, and the Founders and the views they expressed.

4. They hold contempt for and despise the half of the country that rejects their worldview and had the temerity to elect Donald Trump President and deny Hillary the coronation they thought she deserved.
