What is this obsession with those on the left that there exists some sort of need for Republicans to exhibit some sort of cult-like subservience to former President Trump?

Could it be that the reasons for Liz Cheney's removal from Party Leadership are much simpler than her distaste for the former President?

One cannot oppose President Trump while simultaneously claiming to support the national policies and objectives championed by the man. Those are the policies that delivered the presidency in 2016 and narrowed the House majority in 2020.

Is it such a surprise Republicans would want Party Leadership to fully embrace Party policy and legislative priorities?

Would Democrats tolerate someone in their Party leadership who didn't support abortion up to and after birth?

I didn't investigate your claims that Liz Cheney's opponent "weaponized" her sister's lesbianism. But, siblings don't necessarily agree on everything.

You imply that Liz Cheney actually supported same-sex marriage but "disavowed" that support to win the election.

Don't you think it was possible she opposed same-sex marriage even with a lesbian sister?

You also assert doing so earned her the support of her parents. I'm not sure whether you mean they were also opposed to same-sex marriage or their approval was based on their daughter doing what was necessary to win her election.

In any interview I ever saw with the former VP, he was always supportive of his daughter regardless of her sexual orientation.

You go on to assert that "subservience to the dear leader matters more than anything else" while noting in the very next paragraph that the probable (and actual) replacement for Liz Cheney in Party Leadership actually voted "with Trump" less often.

So, if subservience to the former President is most important why would someone who voted "with him" less often be an approved choice?

You're right, the GOP doesn't stand for any cohesive ideology or has any real ideas.

It doesn't stand for lower taxes. It doesn't stand for border security. It doesn't stand for a strong military. It doesn't stand for reduced regulations. It doesn't stand for policies that promote job growth. It doesn't stand for police reform without defunding the police. It doesn't stand for ensuring every legal vote is counted in our elections. It doesn't stand for free speech. It doesn't stand for religious liberty.

You assert that the Cheney-opposed GOP doesn't believe in the "fundamental structure of our government".

It's not the GOP that has openly embraced the concept of packing the Supreme Court with additional Justices.

It's not the GOP that has passed legislation attempting to federalize elections nationwide, dictating fraud-enabling concepts like ballot harvesting, while overturning states that have enacted voter ID requirements.

It's not the GOP that has forwarded ideas to make the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico new states in an effort to cement a "permanent" Democrat majority in the Senate.

It's not the GOP that has proposed eliminating the 60 vote requirement to reach cloture and end debate in the Senate effectively turning the Senate into a smaller version of the House.

The GOP is a Party that remains committed to minority RIGHTS not rule. I don't even think that's a thing.

You lament Republicans pursuing "long-shot efforts to overturn elections". I suspect you had different feelings when Nancy Pelosi was attempting to overturn the certified election of a Republican in Iowa.

You have to appreciate the irony of the Party of Jim Crow (Democrats) suddenly referring to the Senate filibuster that they used extensively against Republicans 2017-2020 now as a "relic of Jim Crow".

Finally, please drop the accusations that Republican politicians are the only ones who will do whatever it takes to remain in power as if Democrat politicians have some higher sense of service. They ALL crave power whether there is an "R" or a "D" after their name.
