The fiction that Obama was some sort of "illegal immigration opponent" because of a supposed large number of deportations is ridiculous.
Only late in GWB's and during Obama's tenure was turning someone back at or near the border considered a "deportation" by the media.
They made the semantical change in an effort to blunt accusations by Americans Obama was soft on illegal immigration.
In reality, Obama was just as much in favor of open borders as the rest of the Democrat Party.
