"McGonigal was charged with conspiring with co-defendant Sergey Shestakov, a former Soviet and Russian diplomat who is a U.S. citizen, to provide services to Deripaska in 2021, in violation of U.S. sanctions imposed on Deripaska in 2018."
So, tell me why, if McGonigal was some sort of inside, Deep State, Russian mole, working to protect President Trump, and given how much the Democrats fear a Donald Trump candidacy in 2024, and given how politicized Merrick Garland's DOJ is, how come all the charges are for alleged services to Deripaska that occurred AFTER President Trump left office?
Garland is a good soldier and Democrat loyalist. His targeting of parents at school board meetings protesting woke curriculum as domestic terrorists and his long delays in investigating Democrat's abortion-supporting allies who vandalized pro-life facilities prove that. He is aware of how much damage another alleged connection to Russia could do to a prospective Trump candidacy in 2024. He's also aware how much MORE damage can be done to his personal reputation if he brings bogus, trumped up (no pun intended) charges against Donald Trump easily disproven in court where Democrat delusions must be supported by facts.
Surprisingly, in this case, it's apparent Garland cares more about his personal reputation than acting as a Democrat lapdog again.
Your writing "McGonigal is accused of taking a $225,000 bribe from a foreign agent in 2017" in the same paragraph that you mention his alleged connection to Oleg Deripaska leaves the reader with the impression that foreign agent must have been Russian. However, this CNN article indicates that foreign agent was Albanian.
