I think you missed the point I was trying to make.

I wasn’t saying Democrats would waste money on what you consider “ridiculous forensics audits when they lose”.

I was arguing that if either political party controlled all elected offices, election officials, etc. that those politicians might work in an unethical way to preserve their power.

Specifically, that the proposal of making it cost prohibitive for billionaires to request a recount might incentivize slimy politicians of both parties to institute election “shenanigans” when they control those levers of power knowing the opposing candidate could never afford to request a recount.
